Welcome to Pinellas On Track!

Welcome to PinellasOnTrack, serving as your official online source for the Pinellas Alternatives Analysis study! The Pinellas Alternatives Analysis is a key step in developing an interconnected regional transit system in West Central Florida. The study findings are a blueprint for implementing premium transit service connecting major residential, employment, and activity centers within Pinellas County and to Hillsborough County via the Howard Frankland Bridge.

Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA)Based on 18 months of technical evaluation and public participation, the Project Advisory Committee (PAC) identified a draft study recommendation (called a Locally Preferred Alternative, or LPA) for premium transit in Pinellas County at their December 12, 2011 meeting: light rail transit connecting Clearwater, Largo, the Greater Gateway area, Pinellas Park, and St. Petersburg in Pinellas County, with a regional connection across Tampa Bay to Hillsborough County. This also includes significant countywide local bus enhancements to the existing PSTA network to support the service. The PAC adopted the draft LPA after a month-long public comment period at their January 30, 2012 meeting.

Click here to see the LPA handout, as endorsed by the PAC on January 30, 2012.

Draft LPA Public Comment Period: The public comment period concluded on January 30, 2012 at the beginning of the PAC meeting, with well over 500 comments from the public. If you would like to view the adopted LPA map and background story, please visit the LPA page.

The May 2012 meeting of the Advisory Committee for Pinellas Transit will be held on Monday, May 14, 2012 from 3 to 5 p.m. The agenda package and presentation are available here.
